'Girl Meets World' Confirmed by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel

Ben Savage has officially confirmed that he and Danielle Fishel will be reuniting and starring in a sequel to the hit "Boy Meets World." He previously teased fans about the possibility of a reunion but has now made it official.

"I'm going to be a father!" Savage tweeted. "Well, on TV at least. The Boy Meets World sequel is officially happening!"

A Disney spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly that Savage and Fishel will "reprise their roles this time as a happily married couple and parents to 13-year-old Riley."

The show will pick up years after the final episode of "Boy Meets World" and, in a similar fashion, follow daughter Riley's teenage experiences. Fans have been eager for a reunion of the characters they fell in love with in the 1990s.

Fishel and Savage played childhood sweethearts Cory and Topanga for seven years; fans watched as they went from junior high to high school and beyond. Eventually fans got the wedding they wanted when Cory and Topanga exchanged vows. The last episodes saw the couple leaving for New York and a whole new "world."

"I do not know how many BMW [Boy Meets World] cast members will be returning for [GMW]… I have known Michael Jacobs, Ben Savage, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Bill Daniels for 19 years. I know we share many of the same feelings regarding the 7 wonderful years we spent making BMW," Fishel wrote on her blog.

"Those years were among the most warm, hilarious, insightful, educational years of my life and I wouldn't trade them for the world," she added.

Post-"Boy Meets World," Savage went on to guest-star on popular shows such as "Without a Trace," "Bones," and "Chuck." Fishel, however, decided on a hosting gig for The Style Network. Both are comfortable on-screen, and one hopes that their passion will carry over to the new series.

There is no news on who else may join the cast of "Girl Meets World" but fans are already excited.

"Cory & Topanga are coming back in a new show called Girl Meets World about their 13 year old daughter. Oh my god! #icant #soexcited" tweeted Hipsterious.

"Best news ever? Maybe. Just maybe," added Brad Haugen.
