Their friendship will truly be tested throughout the rest of the season. Some are speculating that the season will bring an end to their friendship. Another issue that can escalate their conflict is the love triangle between them and Lucas.

Blanchard recently spoke with TV Line about the characters' friendship and romantic affairs. She said, "At the end of the day, I truly believe our show is a friendship show, whereas Boy Meets World was probably more of a relationship show. What we're trying to do with Girl Meets World is show that relationships aren't limited to romantic relationships. Friendships can be just as powerful, if not more so."

With the season soon ending, Blanchard also shared some details about the show's season finale. She added, "Riley and Maya both know that going to high school will take their relationships to a new level, as dating is going to become a real thing, which puts everybody in an awkward position."

The Disney series has been said to explore many mature and relevant topics. With that, the show's lead, Rowan Blanchard, is considered the youngest actress who has discussed the issue of gender inequality in the industry. At merely 14 years old, she has already voiced her opinion about women's issues with an essay about feminism.

"Girl Meets World" season 2 airs every Friday on Disney Channel.
