'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Episode 3 Spoilers, Air Date and News: Recap of Episode 2; What to Expect in Upcoming Episode
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 premiered with a shocking turn of events: after Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) landed himself in prison after assaulting Andrew Deluca (Giacomo Giannotti), thinking the latter took advantage of a drunken Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington). Predictably, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) had stood by his side throughout his ordeal, which worsened in "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 Episode 2: "Catastrophe and the Cure."
What went down
"Grey's Anatomy" picked up where the premiere left off. Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital picked their sides on the Alex versus Andrew issue. Alex threw himself on a patient named Zack to take his mind off his troubles. However, the doctor became so distracted by his own personal issues that he blew off his patient's report.

Meanwhile, Amelia and Owen Hunt (played by Caterina Scorsone and Kevin McKidd) threw a housewarming party. After blowing up her meeting with Andrew to convince him to drop the charges, Meredith urged Alex to attend the party - only for him to run into Jo.
Maggie and Nathan
Meanwhile, Maggie Pierce (Kelly McReary) finally acknowledged her growing crush on Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson). At the party, she worked up the courage to ask him out, only for Meredith to warn Nathan to gently turn her down. Nathan took it as a sign that Meredith was finally falling in love with him, or, "close" enough.
As expected, Nathan turned Maggie down. She said he told her he wasn't ready yet - a conditional to which Maggie had pinned her future hopes on.
More bad luck for Alex
Back to Alex and Jo: Alex apologized to Jo for what he's done. But Jo wasn't having any of it, and brought up Alex calling her "trash." Hurt, she told Alex they were no longer together.
As Alex was getting his heart broken at the Hunts', his patient Zack was getting worse and almost needed to have his kidney removed.Meredith and Bailey succeeded in saving him while Alex was MIA. But Alex's unprofessional behavior prompted Bailey to demote him to Denny Duquette Clinic.

It looks like things will take a turn for the worse on "Grey's Anatomy" 13.3. The official synopsis revealed that a car crash is expected to happen. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), on the other hand, will find herself torn between Alex and Andrew.
Meanwhile, Maggie and Meredith run through a problem, something which Amelia helps them through. Does it have something to do with Nathan?
