'Hitman: Absolution' Xbox One Backward Compatibility Confirmed
A new report is confirming "Hitman: Absolution" as a title that will be added to Microsoft's Xbox One Backward Compatibility program in the future. However, it wasn't revealed when exactly the title from developer IO Interactive will be available to play in the Xbox One console.
During last month's "Hitman" media event, Worthplaying had the opportunity to talk to publisher Square Enix's Senior Director of PR, Reilly Brennan and IO Interactive's Studio Head Hannes Seifert. Both executives confirmed that "Hitman: Absolution" will be playable in the Xbox One sometime in the future. However, they were not able to provide a specific release date but said it's one of the details or specifics that only Microsoft will be able to decide.
In addition to "Hitman: Absolution," Seifert also hinted at the possibility of all IO Interactive's Xbox 360 games to be eventually playable on the Xbox One. This means Xbox One fans can expect to play "Hitman: Blood Money" and "Hitman HD Trilogy" on their consoles in thte future. Aside from the "Hitman" series, the studio also developed "Mini Ninjas" and the "Kane & Lynch" series. The latter's sequel, "Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days," was added to the service in December 2015.

Last week, Microsoft added four new games to the ever-growing Xbox One Backwards Compatibility catalog. These are "Lego Batman," "Alan Wake's American Nightmare," "Trials HD," and "Sam & Max: Beyond Time and Space."
"Alan Wake's American Nightmare," along with "Red Dead Redemption," "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night," "Tekken Tag Tournament 2," "Left 4 Dead 2," and "Halo Wars," became available to download for the Xbox One earlier this month. Microsoft has confirmed that the rest of the "leaked" titles are under testing but they should release to the company's Xbox One Backward Compatibility program sometime in the future. Other confirmed titles coming to the service include "Call of Duty: Black Ops," "BioShock," "BioShock 2," "BioShock Infinite," and "Skate 3."
