"Listening to music is one of the most popular things people use their phones for, so it's more important than ever that we deliver the power and emotion artists capture in the studio," said Jason Mackenzie, President, Global Sales and Marketing for HTC.

"The HTC Desire C offers customers excellent design, easy access to content and fast connectivity- making it the perfect all round device," he continued.

Other specifications on the Desire C include a "powerful battery," a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, and 25GB of Dropbox for two years, and will sell alongside a NFC-capable variant that will allow users to make payments with their phone and access information and other offers. The Dropbox integration will let owners of the smartphone back-up various media files including music, video and pictures.

The smartphone will debut in red, white and black. The Desire C will be offered through T-Mobile. Carriers to have the smartphone overseas include Virgin Media, Three, Vodafone, Orange, O2, Phones4U, The Carphone Warehouse, and Tesco Mobile.

Engadget recently was able to get T-Mobile U.K. to confirm the pricing details for the device. Pay monthly users will be able to acquire the Desire C for £15.50 a month over a 2-year period. Pay-As-You-Go users can get the new Android device for £169.99.

These options are rumored to become available in the early part of June.
