HTC M8 Specs Leaked in New AnTuTu Benchmarks

The HTC M8, also known as the successor to the HTC One, appeared in AnTuTu benchmarks this week where the specs for the device were revealed.

The features are close to what is found on the HTC One, further hinting that the M8 will be the next-gen model as an upgraded processor is found on board.

Specs found in the leak include Android 4.4, KitKat, a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974AB processor at 300MHz, Qualcomm Adreno 330 graphics chip, a 5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, a 2.1-megapixel front camera, and 4-megapixel rear camera, 2GB RAM, and 16GB of internal memory.

The HTC One features an Adreno 320 so the version found in the M8 is a significant upgrade.

Most of the other specs are the same as what is found on the HTC One including the cameras, internal memory, and the RAM. The new processor and graphics processor make for a much faster smartphone with all the same great features as the predecessor. The new model beats the current version in every area in the AnTuTu tests. It also has impressive results in both the 3D graphics and multitasking tests.

The Snapdragon 800 processor has already appeared on smartphones in the market so that will not be much of a selling point for HTC in the Spring of 2013. However, an earlier launch while the component is still cutting edge could be beneficial. Qualcomm is expected to launch a newer processor by Spring with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805. The HTC M8 could end up using this chip and is only testing its device with the older one at this time.

The HTC M8 codename follows the M7 title for the HTC One perfectly. The number after the M normally accounts for what version of Sense the device is running so it is safe to say that the One successor will pack a brand new interface.
