Huawei G520 Features High-End Specs at a Low Price Unlocked

The Huawei G520 smartphone features some high-end specifications with a fairly low price tag.

The device comes with an unspecified version of Android said to be at least 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, a 4.5-inch IPS touchscreen of an unknown resolution, a 5-megapixel rear camera and 512MB RAM.

Those specs seem a bit underwhelming compared to what is featured on many of today's flagship devices; however, the selling point of the G520 is its quad-core processor. And even with the powerful chip normally only found on high-end phones, the handset will only run customers $200 unlocked. That might make it one of the best deals for a quad-core smartphone on the market.

The Huawei G520 will be released in China with no immediate plans of it being released in any other countries.

Huawei also recently unveiled the Ascend D2, which will satisfy consumers looking to the company for a truly high-end state of the art experience.

This new handset will come with a 5-inch 1920 x 1080 Full HD Touchscreen along with a slew of other high-end components such as a quad-core 1.5GHz processor, 13-megapixel rear camera, 1.3-megapixel front camera, 2GB RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery.

It will run on Android 4.1, JellyBean and will use a quad-core processor known as the Hass K3V2, which is actually made by Huawei.

Measurements for the device will be 9.9mm and it weighs 170 grams. This makes the handset larger than the 7.5mm ZTE Nubia Z5. The difference in weight and size could be attributed to the new battery.

The Ascend D2 will allow Huawei to have a strong competitor for the Oppo Find 5 and the Nubia Z5. The internal storage still has not been revealed for the handset and it is not clear if it will have LTE connectivity. That news should be revealed in the coming weeks.
