iTunes Store Top Rated Christian Apps for 2011

This year has brought Christian’s a bevy of highly rated and enjoyable apps for Apple’s iOS devices.

Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iTouch devices are home to several Christian apps. One of the most positively reviewed is’s "Bible" app.

The Bible app allows users to download several different translations of the Bible. It also allows users to search for keywords, references and take notes on pre-read sections. Through Facebook and Twitter, users can post their favorite verses to their friends and followers.

Customer reviews for the app are very positive. User "App inspector pro" said, "Amazing app. I wish I would've discovered this a whole lot sooner. You can take notes and find specific verses. The "Better Part: The Better App for Christian and Catholic Meditation" app also happens to be one of the best, according to user reviews.

This app is based on Fr. John Bartunek, LC, and his bestselling book of the same name. The author has crafted this app alongside Copper Mobile as a daily resource for daily meditation techniques, prayer guides and Bible study.

Another popular app, the "Christian Dating" app from Dating DNA, Inc. is one of the most highly rated Christian relationship apps in the iTunes Store. Users only have to pay $0.99 to interact with other single Christians in a safe online setting. The DNA compatibility match feature helps users meet Christian singles with similar interests.

"meetme10" said that the app has a "very good matchmaking system." Another iTunes user, "airpost22," said that the app is "the best Christian dating app out there and I’ve tried them all."

"The House FM/Praise 88.7/Christian Radio" app comes from Jacobs Media and is also free of charge. It offers streaming radio services of contemporary hit and adult contemporary Christian hits. The House FM and Praise 88.7 radio stations provide the music content for the app.

The streams are free of commercials, so users can enjoy listening to their music without interruption. It can be found on iTunes as a free download.

User "Kyle aka Luke" gave the app a perfect 5-star rating alongside other customer reviews. "I would highly recommend this station to anyone!," he said. "There are two types of music with this app. One is an upbeat tempo and the other is more traditional Christian music."
