Jamie-Grace Shares Personal Stories About Hit Song 'Hold Me' (VIDEO)
Jamie-Grace, one of today's top Christian artists, has opened up about her career and how music has touched her life as well as her fans' lives.
The recent Dove Award New Artist of the Year winner has been outspoken about having Tourette's syndrome since starting her career, but the singer admitted that it was a difficult hurdle to overcome.
"A condition that makes me make movements and sounds that I can't control, and it becomes difficult to speak or walk or do normal things," explained Jamie-Grace to The Christian Post. "So music has really been an outlet.
"I love when people share these stories with me because it means so much," continued the 19-year-old before sharing a story about one of her fans whose life she changed with her music.
"A little girl came up to me with tears in her eyes and said to me, 'Jamie-Grace, I heard your song 'Hold Me' and I used to cut myself, I used to hurt myself all the time and now that I've heard your song I know that God is holding me and I don't have to live in fear and I don't have to cut myself anymore,'" the gospel singer said.
"It's moments like that where I realize that even if I had to go through Tourette's and learn how to live again … I realize I would totally do it all over again if it means getting to inspire girls like her." added Jamie-Grace .
Jamie-Grace, who comes from a religious and musical background, released her first album "One Song at a Time" in September 2011. Her career has since blossomed rapidly as "Hold Me" is one of the most added singles to Christian Hit Radio stations. She released her second EP, a Christmas album entitled "Christmas Together," in November last year.
The teenager hinted to CP that she may be pursuing a career as can actress in the coming months.
"There may be some acting things going on in the near future," said Jamie-Grace. "I started professionally acting like a year and a half ago."
