Jay Z Talks Atheism, Barneys In Rick Ross 'The Devil Is a Lie' Collaboration

Jay Z and Rick Ross have teamed up for their sixth collaboration in the form of "The Devil Is a Lie," where the former is talking about controversial themes like speculation about his religion and his Barneys department store collaboration.

While "The Devil Is a Lie" is slated to appear on Ross' "Mastermind" album due to be released next year, it is Jay Z's third verse in the song that is addressing some of the controversy he has faced in the media. In the verse, the 44-year-old rapper who was born Shawn Carter, speaks about his religious beliefs.

"Is Hova atheist? I never (expletive) with True Religion/ Am I down with the devil cuz my roof come up missin'/ Is that Lucifer juice in that two cup he sippin'/ That's D'usse baby welcome to the dark side," he raps.

The rapper goes on to compare Jesus and crack cocaine.

"Coulda got black list for the crack (expletive)/ White Jesus in my crock pot/ I mix the shit with some soda/Now black jesus turn water to wine," he raps.

The song is a braggadocios record where both rappers speak about their previous lives drug dealing and the illustrious lives that they are currently living. However, Jay Z took things a step further by speaking against criticism that he received for working with Barneys, the department store that was accused of racism in New York City.

Devil want these (expletives) hate they own kind/ Gotta be Illuminati if a (expletive) shine
Oh we can't be a (expletive) if a (expletive) rich? Oh we gotta be the devil that's some (expletive) (expletive)," he raps. "You seen what I did to the stop and frisk/ Brooklyn on the Barney's like we own the (expletive)/Give the money to the hood, now we all win/ Got that Barney's floor lookin like a VIM."

Both Ross and Jay Z are on the hook of the song that states, "...Bow your head cuz it's time to pay tithes/Opposition want me dead or alive/(expletive) but the devil is a lie..."

Ross recently spoke about collaborating with Jay Z once again.

"I believe this is our sixth collaboration, we are 6-0 baby!" Ross told HipHollywood on at the Power 106 Cali Christmas recently.
