Kailyn Lowry's Arm Tattoo, Homage to Her Life (PHOTO)

Kailyn Lowry debuted her newest body art yesterday with a photograph of a large tattoo covering the top half of her arm. Lowry, star of "Teen Mom 2," has several tattoos and plans to finish what's known as the "sleeve" to cover her entire arm.

Lowry posted a photo to Instagram yesterday with the caption "Halfway!" Fans were somewhat surprised at the image, which is a combination of various objects that have meaning to her.

"It's an anchor for all those who have kept me grounded through my journey with MTV. And the pocket watch reads 10:05, the day I met Javi. The skull is for my past (skeletons in my closet)," she told Starcasm.net. She plans to complete the tattoo with another session to cover "the other side of my arm."

Lowry has a host of tattoos, but none so elaborate as the one covering her entire back. It's an image of nature with the words "To the world you are one person, but to one person you are the world" between her shoulder blades. She finished that tattoo in July and did not waste any time getting more ink.

She and new husband Javi Marroquin got matching infinity tattoos while they were still dating. As she explained to Starcasm.net, "We always say I love you to infinity and beyond, so the infinity symbol is perfect."

Lowry also has a tattoo of a mermaid on her forearm and tweeted its meaning to her fans: "I'm a Pisces and reaching for the stars from the bottom." The mermaid on her arm is, in fact, reaching and touching a star. It's a rather tame tattoo, compared to the artwork she has on her back and upper arm.

Lowry's claim to fame is starring on MTV's series "16 & Pregnant," followed by "Teen Mom 2." She and son Isaac have been staples of the series, which currently airs Monday nights on MTV.
