Kirstie Alley Slams Leah Remini for Scientology Comments on 'DWTS'

Kirstie Alley is reportedly furious that former friend Leah Remini spoke out about the Church of Scientology while appearing on "Dancing With the Stars." The two were once close friends who were members of the organization, but since Remini left the Church, Alley has been outspoken against her.

Alley was "absolutely stunned when it was announced that Leah would be a contestant on the show. Kirstie did feel extremely betrayed. Kirstie was livid that Leah made those comments about the church on Monday night," a friend told Radar Online.

"She couldn't remember another religion being targeted and disparaged on 'Dancing With the Stars.' Enough is enough; Leah needs to move on and stop talking about Scientology," the source added.

Remini has broken the silence about her family's decision to leave Scientology after being long-time members. During an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Remini revealed that they had all "lost friends" because of their decision. She decided to compete on "Dancing With the Stars," surprising many, and spoke about the organization on the most recent episode.

"The church is looking for me to fail so they can say to their parishioners, 'Look what happens when you leave.' They're waiting for me to fail," Remini told her dancing partner, Tony Dovolani.

Dovolani assured Remini, and the audience, that he would do all he could to keep her on the show and prevent her from failing. The pair is seemingly doing well and survived the second week.

Alley appeared on a previous season of "Dancing With the Stars," but her friend said that now she would "absolutely decline" to be on another season if asked by producers. She will also not be in the audience this season.

The Church of Scientology issued a statement about Remini's claims, saying that it "may come as a surprise to someone as self-absorbed as Ms. Remini, but we could care less if she wins or loses on 'Dancing With the Stars.'"
