LeAnn Rimes in Twitter Battle Following Homewrecker Assertions

LeAnn Rimes, the singer who famously had an affair with a married man, recently lashed out at one of her Twitter followers who criticized her about her controversial marriage to Eddie Cibrian.

The self proclaimed devout Christian appeared to be outraged when a woman by the name of Laura James tweeted that 29-year-old Rimes "cheated with Ed & broke up her marriage and his."

"Correction…we broke up our own marriages," Rimes tweeted adding "people have nothing better to do than judge something they know nothing about."

Rimes, who was married to Dean Sheremet at the time of her affair with Cibrian, was aware that he was married to reality star Brandi Glanville yet still proceeded with the inappropriate relationship.

After both she and Cibrian, 40, ended their respective marriages to marry each other in 2011, Rimes received widespread criticism from fans which has continued ever since.

"Well, then u better prove to others what u did was right by staying together so u can get ur fan base back. Otherwise the breakups & your marriage were all for nothing," James went on.

"And u might not want to believe this but ur fans hate u & ur career is in the s------. while Ed smells like a rose through all of this! Hope ya have a prenup bc that is all he wanted is ur money. Good luck to you," she said in another tweet.

James' tweets appeared to enrage Rimes who then suggested that the only one who she has to answer to is "the good Lord."

"excuse me? I have nothing to 'prove' we are happy and my fans are wonderful and no one is perfect. All I need to speak to about me and my sins is the good lord," responded LeAnn.

"Remember you can't break what's already broken. I'm not anything like what you read about. It's all lies and anything you've read about no matter who or where it comes from....well, let's just say its a game for so many to hurt others. Time to move on, everyone else has," she went on.

Despite Rimes' suggestion that "everyone" has moved on, recent reports suggest that Glanville, who shares two children with Cibrian, has not.

The "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star reportedly spoke out about Rimes being an overbearing step mother in a previous interview with Australia's NW magazine.

"I remember walking up to soccer practice and there she was with my baby in her lap," Glanville allegedly told Australia's NW Magazine. "My blood was boiling, and I thought I was going to kill her. I really thought I was going to physically hurt her."

Rimes' career has suffered immensely since she admitted to having an affair with Cibrian but she still makes excuses for her behavior by arguing that she simply did not know any better at the time.

"I know I didn't do it the right way. I didn't have the tools to know how to do it the right way, how to let go the right way. I'd never been taught that," Rimes said on program "Backstory: LeAnn Rimes," which aired on the Great American Country channel.
