Lindsay Lohan Accused of Stealing Liz Taylor's Bracelet, Planned to 'Replace With Fake'

Lindsay Lohan has been accused of stealing Elizabeth Taylor's prized bracelet by her one-time nurse. Lohan returned the bracelet after claims of theft became public and has denied that she ever took the bracelet in the first place.

"Lindsay had taken the bracelet that was owned by Taylor – and left to her long-time nurse after she died – without the nurse's knowledge or permission, to a jeweler. Lindsay wanted the jeweler to reproduce a fake replica of the bracelet, and she planned on giving that one back to the nurse," a source told Radar Online.

The complicated story began with Lohan's odd behavior on the set of the Lifetime movie "Liz & Dick." Taylor's nurse allegedly showed Lohan the bracelet during a meeting, and Lohan became enamored with the jewelry.

"Lindsay planned on keeping the original and bragged to friends about her brilliant plan. However, the plan was thwarted when the nurse demanded that Lindsay return the treasured piece, or she was going to the cops. One of Lindsay's minions returned the bracelet shortly thereafter," the source added.

The bracelet was, in fact, delivered back to the nurse, who was "extremely upset about what had transpired."

This is not the first time that Lohan has been accused of stealing jewelry; in 2011 she was accused of stealing a necklace worth $2,500. She avoided jail time and was given probation instead, but the damage to her reputation was done, and with this latest charge, things have only gotten worse.

Lohan was reportedly out of control on the set of "Liz & Dick," and damaged the trailer she used during filming. Angel Alger, owner of the trailer, reported several items missing as well as cigarette burns on the furniture.

"I was specifically told that it would come back in pristine condition and in even better condition than it was at that time. I did not get to enjoy using the lavish French phone that she used or even her personal hair brush that probably still had some of her hair in it," Alger told Channel 24 News.

Lohan has offered a different take on the whole situation with Taylor's nurse, however.

"My entertainment lawyer, he knows the nurse that was with her for about seven or eight years, so I became good friends with her and she was on set most of the days I was working and she actually gave me one of Elizabeth's furs, which was nice of her," Lohan told Jay Leno.

She has yet to comment on the bracelet allegations, though.
