6 reactions to Marty Makary resigning from FDA after e-cig, abortion pill tensions

6. Tony Abboud

Vapor Technology Association President Tony Abboud suggested that Trump is attempting to follow through on his 2024 campaign pledge to “save vaping.”

Abbound’s organization reportedly donated more than $1 million to Trump’s inauguration.

Sources that spoke with News Nation alleged that Marty Makarty’s departure was tied to his reluctance to authorize fruit-flavored electronic cigarettes.

Abboud claimed Makary appeared “very hostile to vaping products” and overly focused on concerns that flavored vaping products contribute to youth nicotine addiction.

Although Abboud said Makary eventually appeared more open to approving flavored products, he argued the commissioner’s efforts ultimately proved “too little, too late.”
