'Metal Gear Solid V' News: Minimum System Requirements Revealed, Game to Launch Simultaneously Across Platforms

Robert Peeler, the Community manager for "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," offered the latest update on the game through its Steam forum section this week. He revealed the minimum and recommended specifications for MGS V.

Citing the post from Gamespot.com, the game's updated system requirements are as of follows:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 (3.40 GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better (DirectX 11 card Required)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 7x64, Windows 8x64 (64-bit OS Required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 (3.60GHz) or better; Quad-core or better
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (DirectX 11 graphic card required)
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Hard Drive: 28 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card (Surround Sound 5.1)

Also this week, Konami announced that the PC version of the fifth title installment of the hit action-adventure game series will be getting a new release date that will ultimately tie it with the console launch.

The report from IGN.com cited the publisher's update on its website and also on Steam saying that the MGS V PC variant will now out similarly with those for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, this September 1.

Originally slated to launch on Sept. 15, the company said in their statement that it has "responded to calls from PC users and worked toward an earlier release date."

Moreover, those who pre-order "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" will also receive a copy of "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes" for free.
