'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' News: Autumn 2015 Release Dates and Details

Kojima Productions' stealth action adventure game, "Metal Gear Solid 5" has just been pegged for an autumn release, a number of gaming websites revealed.

"Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" is set for official release on September 1 for PS3, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, according to information posted on various gaming sites online, with a loaded Collector's Edition and First Day Edition available for pre-order. The fifth installment in the "Metal Gear" series will have its PC release on Steam by Sept. 15.

"Metal Gear Online," the game's competitive multiplayer component will likewise go live during the same launch period, giving players the chance to compete in objective-based battles. With the "MGS5"-equipped online version, fans of the game have the option to choose between a host of character classes with their accompaniment abilities and equipment.

Continuing its story arc from "MGS4: Ground Zeroes," Snake, after recovering from a grave injury without one of his arms, goes off to recruit a new group of mercenaries to avenge his army after it was been decimated by an unknown force in the previous game.

The Collector's Edition of the open world environment will be offering more downloadable digital content and physical items, including a Blu-Ray disc containing a behind-the-scenes documentary and several trailers, a SteelBook collectible, Snake's half-scale bionic arm replica, and a map of the game in "MGS5" exclusive packaging.

In the game itself, the Collector's Edition will gift players with a comprehensive weapon and shield pack, their own snake costume and emblem, Cardboard Boxes for Wetland, All-purpose Dryland and Rocky Terrain, an XP boost for "Metal Gear Online," and other MGO paraphernalia.

Kojima's "MGS5" Collector's Edition is currently set at $99.99 (£65.55).

An "MGS5" pre-order will get players the game's special Day One boxed edition that comes with a map, and in-game bonuses that include an Adam-ska Special Handgun, a silver Personal Ballistic Shield, a Cardboard Box for Wetland, Blue Urban Snake Fatigues, and an XP Boost for "Metal Gear Online."
