Microsoft Surface Pro 4 vs Apple iPad Pro: What are the Key Differences in Specs & Features?
The battle for the best tablet in town lives on and this time around, the spotlight is turned to Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 placed side by side against Apple's iPad Pro. According to Gizmodo, the iPad Pro is now up for sale and several indicated that not only will it be trying to attract buyers but also challenge the flagship Windows 2-in-1 device of Microsoft. Which among the two will come out to be better?
Trusted Reviews detailed that Apple got its idea for the iPad Pro from its contender considering the fact that it's almost as massive as the Surface Pro 4. The former is created with a 12.9-inch display while the latter carries a 12.3-inch screen.
The size difference between the two isn't much but the Apple product is larger. Both tablets are sharp though with the Surface Pro 4 at 2,736 x 1,824 and the iPad Pro at 2,732 x 2,048. In terms of the weight, Gizmag reported that each model varies. The Core i5 and i7 versions of the Surface is heavier compared to its Core M variant. The iPad Pro is also heavier than the Wi-Fi only version.
Apple claims that the iPad Pro carries with it a desktop-class CPU performance and console-class graphics while Microsoft said that its Surface Pro 4 is faster than its predecessor by 30 percent and faster than the MacBook Air by 50 percent. The Windows tablet also ships in three different RAM configurations—4 GB, 8 GB and 16 GB. Meanwhile, the iOS 9 contender is rumored to carry 4 GB of RAM.
Both devices are equipped with a stylus which are the Surface Pen and the Apple Pencil. The two also support keyboard accessories and features fingerprint sensor, as well as split-screen multitasking. With regards to its price, the iPad Pro wins with a starting price of $799 while the Surface Pro 4 costs with a starting price of $899.
But even though the iPad Pro is cheaper, the Surface Pro 4 is said to live up to its value by being a more capable and flexible device.
