Motorola DROID Turbo 2 News: Leaks Show the New DROID Turbo 2 Will Be 'Shatterproof' and DROID Maxx 2 Will Have 48-Hour Battery Life

Just a few days before the official launch of the new Motorola Droid devices, leaks of Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2 have been released online.

Details about the DROID Turbo 2 were seen in a promotional pamphlet, and it is showing that the new DROID will have a shatterproof screen. According to Droid Life, this is not the first time that a shatterproof smartphone was introduced to the market, but Motorola will be using this as the DROID's main selling point. No information yet on how the shatterproof material was made for the DROID Turbo 2, which leaves a few surprises for fans this upcoming Motorola and Verizon event.

Another detail included in the pamphlet is that Verizon will offer a promo that will allow subscribers to trade in their phone for up to $300 back, when they buy a new Motorola DROID Turbo 2. The promo is offered even for those who have smartphones with cracked display, and the $300 will be given in the form of a gift card or a Verizon account credit.

Meanwhile, the same trade in offer is also indicated on the pamphlet for the Motorola DROID Maxx 2. The DROID Maxx 2 is the Verizon variant of the Moto X Play, and is being marketed as having an extended battery life, which can last for about 48 hours long. The new DROID Maxx can also be customized, since the device comes with removable back covers, which are available in different colors (black, red, blue, and green), according to Yibada.

The website added that the Motorola DROID Maxx will be sold at around $400–$500, while the DROID Turbo 2 will be offered at a $600–$700 price tag.

Verizon and Motorola will be holding a launching event in New York City for the new smartphones this coming Oct. 27.
