Naughty Dog releases final 'Uncharted 4' trailer

In roughly two weeks, fans of developer Naughty Dog's "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will finally get to play the action-adventure shooter on their PlayStation 4. But before that, the developer is bringing the hype with the game's final trailer.

"I made a promise that I was done with this life," protagonist Nathan Drake can be heard saying at the beginning of the video (below).

The new game happens several years after the previous title. Drake has already retired from fortune hunting but a visit from his brother Sam reels him back in. Their search for a "fabled pirate treasure" will involve personal stakes, test his physical limits, resolve, and "ultimately what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves."

Lead designer Ricky Cambier also recently revealed that the new game will delve deeper into Drake's character and his upbringing. Young versions of Sam and Nathan appeared in previous trailers of "Uncharted 4" and flashback sequences were included in "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception."

"We don't know a lot about his childhood and what happened," he explained. "So we bring a character like Sam in and now you get to meet his older brother. And you get to see a little about what that relationship is like and how formidable that was to who Nathan Drake is."

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will launch on May 10 exclusively for the PS4. According to Venture Beat, the release of a title as big as "Uncharted 4" will strengthen Sony's position as the leader in the console industry. Previous "Uncharted" games for the PS3 sold more than 21 million copies, six million of which belongs to "Drake's Deception" which came out in 2011. It's considered to be the last entry in the series, though "Uncharted: Golden Abyss" became available a year later to the PS Vita.
