'NCIS' Season 13 Spoilers: Michael Weatherly Opens Up About Exit, Pays Tribute to Show's Fans

Former star of "NCIS" recently spoke out about his upcoming departure from the series.

The end of "NCIS" season 13 will see the exit of Michael Weatherly, who has been taking on the role of Senior Field Agent Anthony Dinozzo for 13 seasons. He previously announced his departure from the show last month.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Weatherly recently spoke out about his time on the series. He explained that he was happy to have been part of the "NCIS" family for 13 seasons. With that, he stated, "I have had the most extraordinary journey and ride. It's been a hugely gratifying and awesome experience and I pray that when I'm in my old folks rest home — which is only a few years from now — that I will look back on these 300 episodes. I'm really most impressed with the audience that found this show and the fans out all around the world who love these characters."

With his exit, it was reported that two new characters will be taking his place in the upcoming season of "NCIS." As reported by TV Line, one of the characters is named Tess. She is described as a sarcastic individual who is also a motherly future. The character is said to be a woman in her late 30s who has been divorced three time. However, there has yet to be any news regarding the casting for the character and details on the other new character.

In addition, there are speculations that Scottie Thompson will be reprising her role as Jeanne Benoit. Rumors also reveal that a former character of the series, Cote de Pablo, played by Ziva David, will also be making an appearance. However, there has yet to be any confirmation regarding the matter.

"NCIS" season 13 is expected to air on CBS every Tuesdays.
