Additional actors set to appear in the scripted program have also been announced and it includes Andrew Gower who will play as Prince Charles Edward Stuart, "a young heir to the exiled Catholic royal dynasty," who is also plotting an "epic return to the throne."

Actor Romann Berrux is also being cast as Fergus, "a young French pickpocket who is incredibly loyal to the Frasers."

As reported earlier, the new season will base on Diana Gabaldon's second book of the "Outlander" novel series titled "Dragonfly in Amber."

The new chapter of the TV adaptation will find Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitrona Balfe) getting heavily involved in the chaotic political turmoil in Paris, France.

"It's going to be a whole different tone, a whole different … playing the story as much more political. We're dealing with the Jacobite Rebellion. It's much more about deception, and lies within lies, and the gossips and the surroundings of Paris," executive producer Ronald Moore informed the press.

"Outlander" Season 2 is slated to return to Starz in 2016.
