'Pokemon GO' Players Experience Login Problems in the Middle of Equinox Event

With 'Pokemon GO' already in the middle of an Equinox event, players reported experiencing login issues that seriously affected their quest to maximize the bonuses and prizes of the special event.

According to Gamespot, players from different parts of the world reported that they were unable to go online last Tuesday. Niantic Labs, for their part, confirmed the problem through a Twitter post.

"We're investigating an issue which is preventing Trainers from logging in. Thank you for your patience as we look into this issue," posted Niantic. The developers quickly set their focus on the problem and were able to resolve the matter on Wednesday. "The issues preventing Trainers from signing into Pokémon GO have been resolved. Thank you for your patience," announced Niantic via Twitter.

Last week, "Pokemon GO" announced through the game's official blog site the in-game Equinox event. "With cool autumn nights quickly approaching in the Northern Hemisphere and sunny spring days arriving in the Southern Hemisphere, we thought it would be the perfect time to celebrate the coming equinox with an in-game event," wrote Niantic.

The special event will run until Oct. 2. Trainers who hatch eggs and catch Pokemon within the period will earn double Stardust. Furthermore, Trainers can also hatch different types of Pokemon such as Larvitar, Chansey, and Mareep, among others. Players can also pick up 2km Eggs inside Gyms and local PokeStops.

In addition, there will also be Lure Modules, Lucky Eggs, and Super Incubators found inside special boxes from the in-game shop. Through the Incubators, Trainers can hatch their Eggs faster by 1.5 times. "Registering a new Pokémon to your Pokédex during this limited-time celebration will earn you triple the normal XP," the post added.

In related news, fans of Pokemon games on handheld devices will soon be treated to the Pokemon-themed New 2DS XL. In a recent Nintendo Direct live stream, Nintendo announced that the limited edition handheld console that carries hints and designs of the Poke Ball will come out on Nov. 3.
