'Pokken Tournament' Wii U Controller Comes to the US in March

A unique controller that is included in "Pokken Tournament" bundles in Japan receives a release date in the United States. The "Pokken Tournament" Wii U controller that was first spotted during November's Nintendo Direct will be coming to the United States next year.

Destructoid was the first to spot the arcade-style controller in Amazon. According to the Amazon listing, the Hori Pokken Tournament Pro Pad Limited Edition Controller is available for pre-order now but will release on March 18, 2016, which is "Pokken Tournament's" release date in Japan. The Hori controller's release date could be a hint as to the possible release date of the game in the West, but nothing is certain except Bandai Namco's previous statement of a spring 2016 release window in North America and Europe.

"Pokken Tournament" has been playable in arcades in Japan since July, and the controller is inspired by the arcade machine controllers used to play the game there. The Hori controller features an ergonomic design sans analog sticks but with "ZL" and "ZR" buttons on the its face. It is USB wired to connect to the Wii U and will only work with "Pokken Tournament."
