Porsha Stewart Claims Independance With Short Hair

Porsha Stewart, "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality television star, recently revealed that a new short haircut has liberated her after undergoing a public divorce battle earlier this year.

Stewart learned on Twitter that her estranged former NFL playing husband Kordell Stewart was divorcing her. Months after the news first broke, the 32-year-old reality television star took to Instagram to explain how cutting her hair has helped her.

"I really wanted to do it to represent the new Porsha Stewart. I wore my hair Halle Berry short when I was 23 and remembered how confident, free, and sexy it made me feel," Stewart said on the Bravo TV website recently. "This new short style is liberating for me in a way, when you wear your hair short it exposes who you are. There is nothing to hide behind."

Stewart explained how her haircut is a representation of her new lifestyle.

"I'm living out loud! And my haircut is a new, exciting, drastic change I wanted especially during such a drama-filled summer I'm having," Stewart said on Bravo TV. "The new Porsha is now stronger, more independent and looking forward to my future. Happiness comes and goes but no one can steal my joy!"

The reality television star has been leaning on God since learning about her estranged husband's decision to file for divorce.

"Difficult moments, seek God. Quiet moments, worship God," Porsha shared on Instagram. "Painful moments, trust God. Every moment, thank God."

The reality television star has been vocal about her Christian faith on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" and thanked those praying for her on Twitter. Stewart is currently working on a hair extension line called Porsha Stewart Collection: Luxury Extensions and making her acting debut on The Rickey Smiley Show.
