Prince William Jokes About 'Long Sleepless Nights' Ahead of Kate Middleton Baby

Prince William is preparing to become a first time father in July and her recently joked about the "sleepless nights" that often come with having a newborn.

The Duke of Cambridge, 30, visited the Help for Heroes recovery center for injured troops at Tedworth House in Tidworth, Wiltshire. It was there that Corporal Josh Boggi, who was accompanied by his two-year-old son, asked William whether he is looking forward to being a dad himself.

"Very much so," Will answered, according to the Daily Mirror U.K.

"All the mothers have been looking at me, 'just you wait, just you wait. Long sleepless nights,'" he joked.

In preparation for fatherhood, William is expected to soon make a formal announcement regarding his alleged upcoming departure from the Royal Air Force Station Valley in Anglesey, Wales. The Duke first began training at the RAF Valley, which provides training for aircrew working with search and rescue, in 2010.

"He's ready for the next step," a source close to William confirmed to People magazine.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 31, is currently seven months along in her pregnancy and a source claims she is expected to give birth to a royal heir on July 13.

"Some of William's closest pals were at a barbecue hosted by a family friend of the Royals recently," an alleged friend previously told Daily Mail. "They were all discussing the fact that Kate's baby is due to be born on July 13."

The baby will reportedly be born at the private Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in Paddington, which is the same place that William was born.

The couple is currently still in the process of picking baby names and Middleton suggested she is still unsure as to what sex her unborn baby will be.

"We have a short list for both [boy and girl] but it's very difficult," Middleton told Us magazine. "My friends keep texting me names."

The royal couple is said to be excited about becoming parents and royal author Judy Wade recently revealed that the pregnancy has brought them even closer.

"They've always been close but it's been much more pronounced since she has become pregnant," Wade revealed.
