'Resident Evil 7' DLCs Release Date News: Capcom Previews 'Not a Hero' and 'End of Zoe' in New Trailer

Capcom has revealed more story details about the upcoming downloadable content packs for "Resident Evil 7" titled "Not a Hero" and "End of Zoe" in an all-new trailer released this week.

It was previously confirmed that the upcoming DLC "Not a Hero" would mainly feature Chris Redfield -- a character who regularly appears in the franchise.

In the latest trailer, it was revealed that Chris was sent to lead the second team in going after adversary Lucas Baker. According to the voice from the command center, the DLC's protagonist will pursue the villain with not much information to start with as the first team abruptly lost contact.

The events in "Not a Hero" take place after what happened in "Resident Evil 7." According to Capcom: "On top of tracking down Lucas, Chris will come across BSAA agents who were previously sent to take down the rogue member of the Baker family, but instead have become captives themselves."

The trailer showed Chris and his team searching for Lucas through an abandoned mine. However, it turns out that the enemy has made the location his own lair where Chris has to survive the onslaught of Molds before defeating Lucas.

Meanwhile, the same trailer opened by featuring a severely distraught Zoe. Like "Not a Hero," the events in "End of Zoe" are a follow-up of what happened in "Resident Evil 7."

The Zoe-focused DLC is also set to introduce a new and "mysterious outdoorsman" character called Joe. As seen in Capcom's statement, the continuation of Zoe's story will experience another unexpected twist once she meets him.

Adding to the mystery of the DLCs, the trailer also shows Zoe turning into a statue of ice while Joe promises the protagonist: "We're gonna fix this Zoe. You're my family."

The launch of "Not a Hero" was previously delayed, but it is now slated to be released alongside "End of Zoe" on Dec. 12.

While "Not a Hero" is a free DLC, "End of Zoe" will be sold separately for $14.99. But players with a season pass can access it at no additional cost.

Developers will also release the "Resident Evil 7" Gold Edition copy that has the base game, the first two DLCs, plus a copy of "End of Zoe."
