Russell Brand Doing 'Quite Well' Despite Katy Perry Divorce

Russell Brand insists that he is doing well despite reports that estranged wife Katy Perry may already have moved on.

Brand, 36, recently landed back in the U.S. after a brief stint in the U.K. where he is believed to have escaped to avoid the media attention surrounding he and Perry's divorce.

The U.K. comedian actor was promoting his nex FX series Strangely Uplifting, when he began addressing his high profile split from the 27-year-old singer.

"I'm quite well, thank you. Are you asking because of recent events?" Brand sarcastically shot at reporters.

"Well, I suppose what you're doing is you're making the mistake as seeing time as linear," the funnyman added.

The pair, who wed in 2010, recently announced they were divorcing after 14 months of marriage.

Although Perry was said to be initially "devastated," sources saying that her evangelical pastor parents Mary and Keith Hudson are in the process of setting their daughter up with NFL quarterback Tim Tebow.

A source spoke directly to US Magazine and explained that although Perry wanted the divorce she was emotionally broken.

"She was brought up with the belief marriage is forever and feels she failed. The plan was for Katy and Russell to have the holidays apart, then see if they wanted to go through with a separation," the source told US Magazine.

After reports revealed that Perry was spending the Christmas holidays in Hawaii and Brand in the U.K., fans began suspecting divorce was on the card and Brand confirmed suspicions shortly after.

"Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again… In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter...He’s handsome, charming, intelligent and above all, a good Christian," a source told OK Magazine.

While Perry is yet to address the Tebow claims, Brand appears to be moving forward with his life and recently moved out of the couple’s multi-million dollar mansion.

According to Mail Online, Brand recently purchased a $1.9 million dollar bachelor pad located in the Hollywood Hills.

Brand insisted that he is focused on his career and being the best actor that he can be.

"All I want is for people to feel better than they do now....All I want is to make people laugh and to make people happy. And as long as I stay in alignment with that, then I'm served by great forces," Brand told reporters.
