'Star Wars 7' Cast News: Adam Driver to Play Villain? 'SW:VII' Set Evacuated After Fire Alert
First off, it has been reported that "Girls" star Adam Driver was called out to join the roster of actors for "Star Wars: Episode VII." Insider infos that trickled down to the media suggest that the 30-year-old actor will play a villain on par with Darth Vader.
Subsequent news confirmed the casting rumors but for what particular role he's playing, it hasn't been known yet until recently.
Australian actor Joel Edgerton, in an interview with MTV for his movie "Felony," shed some light into the rumors.
"Adam Driver and I worked together on this Jeff Nichols movie last year. Literally, he got cast, and then I heard he was going to play new whatever version of the villain in the new 'Star Wars' movie,. The next day I had to do a scene with him after I read this. I said 'I'm scared to do this scene with you now because you might [Force choke me]," the "Warrior" actor was quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, a news report said that the "SW:VII" film set at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire was briefly vacated after a fire alarm went off.
"Tom Kitchin triggered the alert as he was working on a dish for a TV show, causing chaos for the cast and crew on the nearby Star Wars set," the Sunday Mirror reported. "It was complete bedlam as the fire alarms in the studio went off."
"The whole Pinewood complex was shut down until security had isolated the cause of the problem. Everyone had to go outside and wait until we got clearance to continue filming," the insider added.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" is slated to arrive on theaters this coming Dec.18, 2015.
