'Super Mario Odyssey' Launch Date, Gameplay News: New Trailer Features Mario's Cappy and Two-Player Mode
A new trailer for "Super Mario Odyssey" shows Mario and his Cappy in action, as well as a two-player mode.
The official Super Mario account on Twitter recently shared the new trailer for "Super Mario Odyssey" with the caption, "Embark on a cap-tivating, globetrotting adventure in #SuperMarioOdyssey, coming to #NintendoSwitch on 27/10! Check out the new trailer!"
The trailer shows off the main mechanics of the game, which is Mario throwing his hat called Cappy towards enemies and certain objects that allows him to take control of them, Gamespot confirmed.
Aside from that, it also previews one of the upcoming game's cool features, which is an assist mode. The two-player mode allows another player to jump in the game and control Cappy for a while. However, players will have to wait for the game's release to figure out the complete mechanics of the two-player mode.
Meanwhile, there will be a wide variety of outfit options for Mario in "Super Mario Odyssey."
In the trailer, Mario can be seen wearing a construction worker outfit and an explorer ensemble, aside from his classic blue overalls with a red shirt. But Mario will have a lot more outfit choices that will blend with the different environments in the game.
In one scene, Mario switched up his outfit with a red jumpsuit and blue shirt while joining a lady in red singing on stage.
He even has a wedding suit. However, it appears that Mario won't be needing that white tuxedo for any wedding ceremonies yet.
Mario also has a chef's uniform, for when he runs around with the enemies in huge blocks of cheese. The pudgy Italian plumber character even has a bathing suit of white and blue stripes, matched with a yellow lifebuoy and orange flippers.
"Super Mario Odyssey" will be available on Oct. 27 on Nintendo Switch.
