Tennessee Titans Rookie Wide Receiver Corey Davis Ruled Out Against Seahawks Due to Hamstring Injury

Tennessee Titans won't have their prized rookie on the field when they take on the Seattle Seahawks.

Titans head coach Mike Mularkey has confirmed that wide receiver Corey Davis won't suit up this Sunday due to a hamstring injury.

"It's tough for anytime to have to watch a guy who can't play. It's so frustrating. He's so competitive. He thinks he's letting us down. He's not letting anybody down. We're dealing with the NFL. We have injuries. I know he's frustrated at this point that he can't play," Mularkey said, via ESPN.

"We are trying to get him past this so we are not dealing with this in November," he added.

ProFootballTalk's Josh Alper is also among the observers who have speculated that Davis will miss the Titans' week four game against the Houston Texans as well.

The fifth overall pick in this year's draft injured his hamstring back in August and it forced him to miss the entire preseason.

Davis started the season strong with an impressive performance against the Oakland Raiders in his National Football League (NFL) regular season debut, but he aggravated his hamstring when they took on the Jacksonville Jaguars this past Sunday.

With Davis recuperating from the injury, Eric Decker will likely get the start opposite Rishard Matthews, and rookie Taywan Taylor should line up in the slot.

Zach Pascal should get the chance to play as well. The Titans promoted the undrafted rookie from their practice squad to the active roster earlier this week after they placed linebacker Aaron Wallace on the injured reserve list.

Meanwhile, Mularkey also noted that DeMarco Murray is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury, and he may play against the Seahawks this Sunday.

"It depends on how well he can go. Just need to see he's capable of being an effective runner for us," Mularkey stated, according to ESPN.
