'The Bachelorette' 2014 Spoilers: Eric Hill Makes Shocking Departure

Fans of "The Bachelorette" already know that former contestant Eric Hill passed away after filming the season. However, viewers will get to see Eric leave abruptly and in an "unconventional" manner on Monday night's episode.

"That episode may be a little more heartfelt or shocking," contestant Marquel revealed. "Eric leaves in an unconventional way. For maybe multiple reasons. I can't really speak to the details being that I was just in the other room. But it's not something that any of us had planned for or expected. This will be the last episode you see Eric, which is very, very sad."

Eric died in a tragic paragliding accident, and during the season premiere, host Chris Harrison announced that the season would be dedicated to his memory. Eric won one of the first one-on-one dates with "Bachelorette" Andi Dorfman, allowing viewers to see more of his personality and time with Andi. The two did have a connection, and she later admitted that she could not watch their date all over again because it brought up painful memories. She paid tribute to Eric with a photo of their date on Instagram. However, it comes as a surprise to everyone that Eric leaves early, and producers have not said exactly why he chose to leave.

Eric's death has affected all of the contestants in one way, shape, or another. It's as if he is still a contestant on the series, with his memory looming over the entire season. He had a sweet personality and made a good impression on Andi. After he stepped out of the limo during the premiere, he presented her with a set of handmade dolls made by a young girl in Peru – the dolls were meant to go to his girlfriend.

"He's greatly missed," Marquel said. "It was a very tragic accident for all of us. It was different, but I have nothing but the utmost respect for him and how he was raised. His family is in my prayers and my condolences go out to them."

Eric's final episode will air on Monday, June 2 on ABC.
