At a vigil held at Woodmont Christian Church Monday evening, Senior Minister Clay Stauffer tearfully revealed that Evelyn Dieckhaus was in the third grade at The Covenant School while her sister was in the fifth grade, according to The Tennessean.

He said Evelyn’s sister was a member of the disciples class at the church and was getting ready to be baptized in two weeks.

The fifth grader cried at the vigil and said: “I don’t want to be an only child.”

"Our hearts are completely broken," the Dieckaus family said in a statement cited by ABC News. "We cannot believe this has happened. Evelyn was a shining light in this world. We appreciate all the love and support but ask for space as we grieve."
