'The Originals' Season 3 Spoilers: The Mikaelsons Should Watch Their Back

The upcoming second half of "The Original" season 3 is expected to take on the story of Davina and Kol.

The previous half season of the series left fans with many mysteries, one of which revolved around the possibility of Davina resurrecting Kol.

With that, the executive producer of the series, Michael Narducci, recently shared some news about the matter during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. He revealed that while Davina, played by Danielle Campbell, could be playing a part in bringing Kol back to life, she will be needing the help of someone else.

Narducci stated, "Davina will find help from an unlikely place and make contact with the long lost love of her life, Kol Mikaelson."

In order to find help, Davina will be heading to New Orleans, which Narducci explained will be a challenging trip. He explained, "This will be the first chapter in a storyline that will have long-lasting effects on the entire Mikaelson clan."

Meanwhile, a new character will be joining the group. It was reported that a new vampire named Cortez will be introduced when Davina reaches New Orleans. He was described as an intelligent but manipulative vampire with no sympathy. It was stated that he will be looking to gain some revenge on the Mikaelson.

Narducci also spoke to TV Line about the upcoming new character. He stated, "Cortez is someone who was sired by a unique circumstance. He has a very interesting perspective, particularly on Klaus. He's of Klaus' sire line, but he was not sired by Klaus. He's a very intriguing character, one of the most dangerous folks we've met. Klaus is obviously incensed and is going to demand some major revenge. "

In addition, fans will be happy to know that the series will soon be featuring a crossover episode with the hit series "The Vampire Diaries."

"The Originals" season 3 is expected to return on The CW this Jan. 29.
