'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Casting Updates: 3 Actresses Cast for the New Trio of Terror

Earlier last month, it has been reported that the CW's hit supernatural TV drama series "The Vampire Diaries" will return to the small screen with "three new vampires," two of which are lovers while the other one is bound to bring chaos in Mystic Falls.

The casting update published in Variety.com said that the show has already found the actors who will be headlining the reported trio.

According to the site, Scarlett Byrne ("Falling Skies") and Teresa Liane ("Neighbours") will be playing the "dangerous duo of down-low lovers with murderous tendencies," Nora and Mary Louise. This will be the first time for the series to feature a same-sex couple.

"Both women are extremely powerful and fiercely protective of one another – a lethal combination for anyone who might decide to cross them," Variety reported.

In the earlier report, it was revealed that both vampires are in their mid-20s. They were able to keep their taboo relationship "a secret for more than a century."

In addition to the two new characters, the show will also introduce Valerie, to be played by "Legend of the Seeker" actress Elizabeth Blackmore.

Previously described as "another 20-something vampire who relies on her dry sense of humor to counter a life of pain and dismissal."

Variety went on to provide the character's details by saying that the vengeful Valerie "will take matters into her own hands and start a dangerous chain of events that will change Mystic Falls."

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 is slated to premiere on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 8/7c on The CW.
