Third Day joins GRAMMY Nominees
Among the GRAMMY nominees this year, Third Day received a spot as part of the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album Category. A large part of this can be attributed to their most recent Essential record effort, Offerings IIAll I Have to Give.
Offerings II was released earlier this year on about March 4, 2003. The albums been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), after selling 500,000 units.
Last year, Third Day offered its first Offeringseasons. Offerings II contains Third Days newest tracks such as Sing a Song, Offerings and May Your Wonders Never Cease melded in with six live recordings featuring Third Day favorites such as Show Me Your Glory, God of Wonders and Take My Life.
Were very excited about Offerings II attaining gold status. Weve been blown away by the success of the Offerings series, which was a direct request from our fans, said Third Days Tai Anderson. These projects have been a huge part of the growth of Third Day over the last few years. We couldnt do it without the help of radio who play the songs, the great concert environments the promoters help to create, and the phenomenal push that retail has given to the record.
J. David Huffman, COO of Creative Trust, the bands management company added, Its an honor to end the year with such incredible momentum building for Third Day. The Grammy nomination and our fifth gold record are two more career milestones were tremendously proud of. We count it a privilege to serve these guys, and the incredible team around them, as they lead the charge for our industry in 2004.
Third Day has received GRAMMY nominations in the past and won Best Rock Gospel Album for Come Together. The nomination this year marks the fifth GRAMMY nod the band has received in its career but the first for the band in the Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album category. Third Days Offerings(2001) - A Worship Album, 2000s Time, and 1998s Conspiracy #5 received GRAMMY nominations in past years.
The 46th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 8 at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on the CBS Television Network from 8-11:30 p.m. EST/PST.
