4 key takeaways from TPUSA's cease and desist letter, Candace Owens' response
3. Candace Owens allegedly refused demands for a retraction

The cease and desist letter claims that “the injuries caused by [Candace Owens’] statements are substantial and continuing to accrue.” It adds that Owens also refused during video calls on Dec. 4 and Dec. 15, 2025, to retract disparaging statements she made about TPUSA, according to the letter.
The letter states that Owens said she “do[es]n’t feel any differently about the people that [she] mentioned on the show that [she] think[s] are shady at Turning Point USA.” It adds that, as a “consequence, her statements are continuing to cause harm to TPUSA,” and the full extent of the “still-accruing damages” has yet to be calculated.
Nathan Livingstone, a freelance filmmaker and video editor, has shared compilations on X of Owens sharing theories about the assassination of Charlie Kirk with her audience. In one such video compilation, Owens claims that Kirk had told her in a dream that he was “betrayed.”
In a clip from a Jan. 13 episode, Owens said that three weeks after Kirk’s death, Andrew Kolvet’s face became clear to her in the dream. Kolvet serves as TPUSA’s spokesman and the executive producer of "The Charlie Kirk Show."
The podcast host shared a screenshot of a message she sent Kolvet on Oct. 6, 2025, about her dream and her belief that Kirk’s soul was in purgatory. Owens also stated in the text that she believed Kolvet “[knows] much more than [he has] said publicly or privately.”
Owens has also expressed doubt that Kirk wanted his wife, Erika Kirk, to take over as TPUSA’s CEO in the event of his death. The podcast host has referred to Kirk’s assassination as “something of a regicide” to “install a new ruler who the king would have never approved of.”
In addition to saying she believes that people at TPUSA “betrayed” Kirk, Owens has implied that the French government, as well as the Israeli government and advocates for Israel, might have had a role in the conservative activist’s assassination.
