'Transformers 5' Cast News, Update: Comedian Jerrod Carmichael in Talks to Join the Cast List

It looks like Michael Bay's upcoming big screen offering, "Transformers 5," is now sizing up its rosters of actors as the latest casting news revealed that Jerrod Carmichael could be joining the fray.

TheWrap.com cited "multiple individuals familiar with the project" saying that "The Carmichael Show" comedian is currently in talks to join "Transformers: Age of Extinction" lead cast, Mark Wahlberg, in the yet to be titled sequel. Distributor Paramount Pictures has declined to issue a statement, the site said.

Speculations, however, said that it could already be a done deal between the North Carolina native and the studios. In fact, it wouldn't be surprise at all if the casting pushes through.

Carmichael is currently on the second year of his NBC show. Aside from the sitcom, he also appears in "The Meddler" and in Jame's Franco's upcoming work, "The Masterpiece."

A separate report from The Wrap meanwhile said that the film is now looking to cast young star Isabela Moner for the role of Izabella. As described by the publication, the character is a "street-smart tomboy who grows up an orphan and was raised in foster care." She happens to own a small Transformer which she considers as "her only true friend…" Her life is about to change when she finally meets Wahlberg's Cade Yeager.

As reported earlier, Bay will direct the film and will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg along with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Don Murphy and Tom DeSanto as producers. Akiva Goldsman, on the other hand, will pen the script.

Principal photography for "Transformers 5" is yet to commence but Bay has recently been spotted scouting for locations of the film. One of his latest Instagram posts saw him in Wiltshire, England, taking a selfie with the Stonehenge on his back.

The yet to be subtitled "Transformers 5" is slated to hit the theaters June 23, 2017. Stay tuned for more updates.
