Trump's week in review: Comey charged again; $1M reward for reporting election fraud

3. Judge extends order blocking Trump plan to renovate golf course
U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes on Monday issued a preliminary injunction blocking Trump’s effort to renovate the East Potomac Golf Links in Washington, D.C. Crews have already cut down about 400 trees on the property as part of the renovation, a move the judge denounced.
The injunction bars the government from removing any more trees from the property. It also requires the administration to give 10 days’ notice before making any “irreparable modification” to any “forms or features” of the course while the case proceeds.
“The Court earlier stated, ‘I am not the Lorax. I do not speak for the trees.’ The Court still does not speak for the trees. It speaks only for the rule of law,” Reyes wrote, referencing Dr. Seuss’ book The Lorax.
The DC Preservation League and two golfers brought the lawsuit, arguing the work would seriously damage the century-old course.
