2. Trump vows to appeal court decision against his ban of news outlets
Last week, Trump announced in a Truth Social post that he was banning CNN, MSNOW and Politico from the White House, citing “their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!”
The outlets challenged the ban in court, and on Monday. Trump responded in a Truth Social post. Those news organizations returned to the White House on Thursday after a court order from U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, to “immediately return, reinstate, and restore” their access.
“We’ll go for appeal because Fake News people and publications that only write negatively, and who violate our National Security by writing false and defamatory stories with unknown ‘sources,’ shouldn’t be allowed access to the most important Office anywhere in the World,” Trump wrote.
“It is called the Oval Office, and it should be treated with Decorum, Respect, and Dignity, not defiled by Third Rate Clowns, who purposefully distort, twist, and degrade with everything they write or publish,” Trump added. “FAKE NEWS IS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY, and I will do whatever is necessary to make sure that the U.S.A. thrives.”
