Trump's week in review: Iran ceasefire; fraud crackdown; Vance speaks in Hungary

4. DOJ establishes National Fraud Enforcement Division
In a Tuesday memo, Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the creation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division and said it will “zealously investigate and prosecute those who steal or fraudulently misuse taxpayer dollars.”
The division will coordinate with agencies administering benefit programs, partner with law enforcement at all levels and develop systems to identify fraud, the memo states.
The move comes less than a month after Trump signed an executive order establishing the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.
The push follows reporting alleging widespread fraud tied to Somali-run daycares in Minnesota that received millions in taxpayer funds. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services froze $185 million in childcare payments. As of late last year, the DOJ charged nearly 100 individuals, with dozens convicted.
