Trump's week in review: Tensions with Iran continue; Rubio visits Pope Leo

President Donald Trump closed out the week confronting escalating tensions overseas while advancing priorities at home, producing a string of headlines.

As ceasefire negotiations involving Iran continued, Trump suggested the conflict could soon come to an end even while warning Tehran of intensified military action if negotiations collapse. Secretary of State Marco Rubio traveled to the Vatican for a high-profile meeting with Pope Leo XIV amid public disagreements between the pontiff and the White House over the Iran conflict.
