5 highlights from Tulsi Gabbard's release of Fauci, COVID-19 documents: 'Straight from the deep state playbook'

Shortly before departing her role as U.S. director of national intelligence on June 19, Tulsi Gabbard released a trove of internal documents related to the origins of COVID-19 with a press release headlined: "Fauci Funded Wuhan Lab Research That Sparked COVID."

The release, which spans nearly 400 pages with heavy redactions and is hosted on the DNI website, contains information regarding the alleged role of former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci in the pandemic, U.S. funding of research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, assessments by the intelligence community and related communications.

The allegations have prompted pushback from some outlets that claimed the documents do not prove what Gabbard claimed they do.

Here are five highlights from the documents about COVID-19 and the alleged role played by Fauci, who has not responded publicly but has since been subpoenaed by Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who serves as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee.
