US churches face continuing campaign of vandalism into 2025: List

5. St. Teresa of Calcutta Church

The chapel at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, located in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Allentown, was targeted by a vandal with an explosive device on May 6. The device, which was centered on the altar near where the Eucharist was exposed, ignited and caused damage to the altar. Damage consisted of a large hole on top of the altar, multiple holes in the stained glass windows and damage to a ceiling tile located above the altar. 

Kyle Kuczynski, 32, was arrested on the evening of May 6 in connection with the incident and charged with arson and related offenses.
