'Wayward Pines' Season 1 News, Spoilers: Ben Burke Learns About the Town's Secrets

The mysteries and intrigue on the hit Fox TV drama series "Wayward Pines" keep building up. The last episode saw Ethan (Matt Dillon) getting appointed as the new town sheriff after he shot Pope (Terrence Howard).

The body of the late officer was meanwhile dragged by a creepy creature and fans would need to find out later what really are those entities surrounding the titular town.

This week's episode titled "The Truth" will see the Secret Service agent venturing the outside perimeters of the mythical town. The synopsis indicates that what he finds there will shock him.

Theresa (Shannyn Sossamon), on the other hand, will report to her new job as a realtor. This time she will meet her first client who, like her, is confused about the eerie place.

Ben (Charlie Tahan) meanwhile gets schooled on the town's big secrets from his teacher Megan Fisher (guest star Hope Davis).

A sneak peek video for the upcoming episode was shared by TV Line. The scene found Ben, among with other students, watching through a series of images showed by Mrs. Fisher. The few photographs featured the outskirts of Wayward Pines. The last clip then featured an eerie, somewhat blurred, image of a creature which Mrs. Fisher said had cost "two lives" just to get it.

According to a report from Hitfix.com, fans should not miss this episode as it will unfold one of the biggest mysteries of the show. The site continued to say that for those who were able to read the novel series by Blake Crouch to which the scripted program was based from, they would know that the creatures Mrs. Fisher have shown are called The First Generation.

It remains to be seen how these elements will come into play in the TV adaptation.
