White Collar's Matt Bomer Comes Out as Gay at Awards Show

Matt Bomer, star of USA's "White Collar" has come out as gay, acknowledging his partner during an awards' presentation in California.

Matt Bomer publicly ended rumors about his sexuality, when he thanked his partner during an acceptance speech, Saturday, at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, according to the Huffington Post.

Bomer included his partner Simon Halls in his speech, calling him his family along with his three children.

"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," Bomer said. "Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment."

Bomer was being honored with the New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his help in fighting against HIV/AIDS.

The TV star is usually quiet about his private life and has dodged questions and rumors of his sexuality in the past. Previously, Bomer declined to comment on rumors that he was gay. In a 2010 interview with Details.com, Bomer evaded questions about his love-life, saying he was "happy and fulfilled."

"I don't care about that at all. I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life," Bomer said in the interview.

When he was further probed on why he won't talk about the issue, Bomer said that he can be too trusting.

"I've realized in this business, that's not necessarily the smartest thing to be," Bomer answered.

Bomer stars on the USA hit-show, "White Collar," which is in its third season, according to the Chicago Sun Times. He plays a con-artist (Tim Dekay) who is working with the FBI.

He is expected to play the older brother of gay character, Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) on the TV series, "Glee," according to the Huffington Post. He also recently starred in the Broadway rendition of California's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage, titled, "8."

His longtime partner, Simon Halls is considered a power publicist in Hollywood.
