World Mission Conference Streams Online

Interactive video, chat discussions, webcasts and webconferences are the hallmarks of the first world mission conference in the new millenium

The weeklong Conference on World Mission and Evangelism, which began in Athens yesterday, is the first world mission gathering in the 21st century and the first such meeting to be broadcasted live worldwide.

Some 500 delegates from the ecumenical World Council of Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and the Pentecostal and Evangelical churches, were selected for the international conference. Participation can go further through the interactive video, chat discussions, and webconferences made available online.

Each of the five plenary sessions will center on the conference’s main issues - the Holy Spirit, healing, mission, practicing healing, and reconciliation – and will be open for public viewing through the webcasts.

According to the WCC, this year’s conference, which follows the theme “Come Holy Spirit, heal and reconcile,” will offer a unique opportunity for Christians of all continents and confessional families to exchange experiences and to reflect on the priorities for mission and the future of Christian witness.
