Your Life Matters

Have you ever wondered what God thinks about or what is on His mind? It says in the Psalms that God is mindful of us-His creation. That means God is constantly thinking about you. Many people think God is looking down on them, waiting for them to mess up. They say things like, "If I walk into that church, the roof will cave in!" But God's not thinking about your mistakes, failures or shortcomings. No, His thoughts toward you are good. He's not thinking about what you did wrong; He's thinking about what you did right. He's not thinking about how far you have to go; He's thinking about how far you've come.

Know today that God approves of you. He's pleased with you. He may not always be pleased with your choices or some of the things you do, but when God looks at you, He sees His amazing creation. You are His masterpiece, and He's looking at you through His loving and gracious eyes.

You matter to God and every detail of your life matters to Him. Scripture says that He counts every hair on your head and bottles every tear that you've cried. You are significant, and your life is significant. In this day and age, people are considered to be important for so many different reasons-titles, positions, possessions, where you go, what you drive. But God's value system is very different. If you've ever thought that God has too many other "important" things on His plate to be concerned about you and your life, know this today: You are God's number one priority. And there's nothing you can do to be more important or less important to Him. God values you simply because He created you. You are precious to Him, and your value will never change.

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! (Psalm 139:17–18 NLT)
