Apple Watch Series 3 Connectivity Problems Fixed With watchOS 4 Update

Apple Watch Series 3 users who have been experiencing connectivity issues can now cease fretting.

Apple recently rolled out a new update for watchOS 4. The update particularly focuses on a fix for the connectivity issues surrounding Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE. According to the patch notes, watchOS 4.0.1 addresses a problem with unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks.

"watchOS 4.0.1 fixes issues that in rare cases were causing Apple Watch to join unauthenticated (captive) Wi-Fi networks, such as those found in public places like coffee shops and hotels, which direct the user to a webpage before the network can be accessed," the notes revealed.

Apple Watch users can now update their watchOS to the latest version.

The Series 3 model of the Apple Watch was released in late September. Compared to the Apple Watch Series 2, the next generation looks quite identical in that they sport the same screen sizes and types. Apple did not change much of the features though it is worth nothing that the company also released a new LTE version of the wearable device.

The cellular version comes equipped with 16 GB of storage, 512 MB of memory, and LTE. This means users can connect to the internet anytime, so long as they have their watch with them. Smartphones can be left safely at home or stored away during runs or sessions in the gym.

Under the hood, the Apple Watch Series 3 has a small electronic SIM card that has the same number as the user's iPhone. The SIM card allows users to connect to the internet and even make calls right from their wrist. It also goes without saying that users can listen to music through the wearable though wireless headphones are needed.

The standard Apple Watch Series 3 starts at $329, while the LTE version starts at $399. Apple is also working on the watchOS 4.1, which is expected to roll out later in the year.
