'Community' News: A New Season or a Movie?

Even though it was previously revealed that season 6 was going to be the final season of "Community," there has been buzz regarding a new season of the show.

The DVD release of "Community: The Complete Sixth Season" revealed a hint that the series was going to end already since the word "sixth" was scratched off with "final." However, there have been rumors stating that there is more to come.

The DVD art also hinted at the idea of a seventh season, which created some buzz with the show's fans. With that, there are many speculations that the series will present a new season. According to Metro Weekly, Joel McHale previously addressed the matter.

He stated, "All of our contracts were up after six years. All the actors on the show, almost without exception — their stock has risen significantly and it's out of the pay rate that is affordable to make the show. So you're not going to be able to get Alison Brie or Gillian Jacobs at a normal television salary anymore. There is just not enough money to be able to pay for the show."

With that, it can be confirmed that there will be no seventh season for "Community." However, the creator of the series, Dan Harmon, recently shared a hint regarding the future of "Community." He explained that while the cast go on with other projects, the ones behind the show are waiting to put the series into the big screen. .

Harmon stated, "We wait a little bit, let [the cast] explore their awesome careers, and then we get together for an incredible movie."

While it has yet to be confirmed, fans will have to wait to find out if they will see their favorite characters in theaters.
